The birth of the motorcycle target was with the MUSE project in France, and together with the Euro NCAP lab UTAC we set out to make the streets a safer place for vulnerable road users like motorcyclists. We have then worked in close collaboration with sensor manufacturers and industry consortiums, who helped us with detailed measurements, so we could produce the most realistic target. With this target, we want to ensure that major accident scenarios, like a left-hand turn, are a thing of the past. To make testing scenarios even more realistic, you can obtain the motorcycle dummy including a “Micro-Doppler” version, where the Radar-cross-section (RCS) of turning wheels can be simulated. Thanks to this “Micro-Doppler” device high stability can be achieved, even at high testing speeds or dynamic lane changes. These WiFi controlled “Micro-Doppler” wheels ensure the correct simulated wheel speed, even with high deceleration rates. The fast and simple magnetic connection allows for the 4activeMC to be ready to use within seconds, on all of our platforms. For even more realistic testing, we have equipped our motorcycle dummy with a light kit, which includes indicators on the front and back as well as a break light.

Created jointly with more than 16 project members from leading companies within the two-year MUSE Project.
This makes it the only fully validated motorcycle target with extremely realistic, sensor‑relevant properties – directly confirmed by the industry.
